. It's just 5 days away from Valentine's Day and a cultural war is raging. Christianity and the pro-life movement are under attack on every front (even from inside). People are being told that Christians are probably terrorists and racist bigots for sure, who don't care about anyone beyond them keeping their babies. Clients are coming in with lots of emotional baggage, exacerbated by too little positive interaction due in part to the Covid virus distancing rules. Many have no clue how to interact in a way that is socially acceptable! How do we share the love of Christ in order to save the unborn and their parents and help them in this more challenging time? What is "love" in 2021, anyway? "Love" according the the world can be many things: you can "love" your new car, your meal, your job and your friends, etc. If you are married or in a romantic relationship, you can "love" that person. (There are also many things in the world that are labeled "love" that our Lord calls "abomination" and that list is growing!) What does God call "love"? Well, for one thing, He says "if you love me, keep my commandments". That may be the most important thing Jesus ever said about love! To keep His commandments is to be actively loving by serving and pointing the way to Him. It means that when a client comes in who uses the F-bomb with the same frequency that some people use the word "um", we have to try not to react and be firm with our boundaries. It means acting loving even if we're not feeling loving. It can be really difficult! "Love" also means that as the press, educational system and politicians target pro-life Christians, we have to more intentionally pray for their salvation. They don't like to hear the name Jesus, they don't like the idea of the traditional family and they believe that there are too many babies being born. We see a system set up to cause certain people to fail, then punish them for failing. But we have been commanded to pray especially for these. It is hard! Join us in praying for this fallen world and for the lost to be found. Join us in praying for babies to be loved, parents to stay together and for family and life to be honored again. That's what we're working toward. Because that's what real love looks like in 2021! "With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love." - Ephesians 4:2
